PRESS RELEASE: My Safety Buddy at ITAC Conference

We were pleased to be presenting again at ITAC (Information Technology Across Care) with its theme “Co-Design Our Digital Future”.

ITAC is put on by the Aged Care Industry Information Technology Council (ACIITC) and supported by Leading Age Services Australia (LASA) and Aged and Community Services Australia (ACSA). It is a pivotal event for both technology buyers and providers across aged care and the other care sectors.

It is always an honour to be included in such a great programme with big name speakers like Arron Wood and Stevan Premutico. With over 400 attendees from many diverse organisations including Alaya Care, the Department of Health and The Global Centre for Modern Ageing, ITAC drives thought leadership on the hot topics of Aged Care.

I discussed how development of our lone worker personal safety solution, My Safety Buddy, had given us unique insights into the best technology driven solutions on the market for lone worker safety.

Key areas of discussion in my presentation were:

• The key statistics around the cost of an injury to an organisation.

• What functionality organisations should be looking for when thinking about solutions for lone worker safety.

• The benefits of app based solutions for lone worker safety compared to stand alone devices.

• Roadblocks and setbacks we have seen when implementing technology driven solutions for lone worker safety.

We also looked at affordability against the backdrop of increasing duty of care requirements and decreasing budgets – a key consideration for us when developing My Safety Buddy.
