Setting App Permissions on Apple Phones
Follow these steps to correctly set up the My Safety Buddy app on your Apple smartphone.
If you already have My Safety Buddy installed, you may need to uninstall My Safety Buddy and then follow these steps.
Please note there may be variations to the below screen layouts for different models of phones.
1. Go to the Apple App Store to download the My Safety Buddy App.
2. Tap [Get] to download and install the My Safety Buddy App.

3. Tap [Open] to open the My Safety Buddy App.

4. “MSB Would Like to Send You Notifications” will appear on the screen.
Tap [Allow].

5. Enter your email address and tap [Next].

6. Enter your password and tap [Sign In].
Note: If your account is set up with SSO, you will be redirected to your company’s SSO login screen to login.

7. “Allow “MSB” to use your location?” will appear on the screen.
Tap [Allow While Using the App].

8. “Background location is not enabled” will appear on the screen.
Tap [Options].

9. The My Safety Buddy settings for your phone will appear on the screen.
Tap [Location].

10. Tap “Always” and then tap [MSB] in the top left corner of the screen.
Note: Ensure Precise Location is toggled on.
Note: “Note: “Always” only applies while you are logged into the My Safety Buddy App. When you are logged out, we do not collect any information.

11. Click the home button on your phone or swipe up from the bottom of the screen to close the settings screen.

12. Tap the MSB App Icon to open the My Safety Buddy App.

13. Check if the displayed mobile phone number is correct.
Tap [Correct] if it is the correct mobile phone number.
Tap [Change] to update the mobile phone number.

14. Enter your OK PIN and tap [OK].
Your OK PIN is to be between 2 and 6 digits long. It will be used to confirm you are OK for any future alarms.

15. Re-enter your OK PIN and tap [OK] to confirm you OK PIN.
This will be the same PIN you entered on the previous screen.

16. If you have a vehicle set up, select the vehicle and tap [Select Vehicle for Today].
If you wish to skip this step, tap [Skip].

17. “MSB Would Like to Use Bluetooth” will appear on the screen.
Tap [OK].

18. Use the Duress Alarm slider to activate the Duress Alarm as a test.

19. “MSB Would Like to Access the Camera” will appear on the screen.
Tap [OK].

20. “MSB Would Like to Access the Microphone” will appear on the screen.
Tap [OK].

You are now setup and ready to use My Safety Buddy!
Note: Your Home screen may look different if your Administrators have disabled some functionality.

After using My Safety Buddy for a few days “MSB has used your location in the background” will appear on your phone.
Tap [Always Allow].
